How Do I Open AutoCAD?

The desktop app of AutoCAD is installed on your computer. Click on the Start menu in Windows or the Applications folder in the Finder in macOS. From the list of installed applications, select Autodesk AutoCAD 2011, and double-click the icon. The main menu will open, as shown below.

In order to work with Inventor and/or Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD users must use a tool such as the Autodesk Design Review tool which converts the object to a type that can be used in Inventor.

Revit
Revit has a similar product called AutoCAD Architecture.

Revit Architecture is written in C++, as is AutoCAD Architecture and ObjectARX. Revit Architecture also supports new features that are not available in the older versions of AutoCAD.

VBA
AutoCAD can be extended using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). This is made easier with the Visual Basic for Applications Reference, which can be downloaded as a stand-alone application, or as an add-in to Excel, Visio, or other applications that support macros.

Visual Basic for Applications can be used to automate AutoCAD functionality, such as automatically inserting a cross section plane, or automatically generating a quantity in the Measurements tab based on a value entered.

Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius

Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius (; died 580) was a Roman politician of the sixth century.

He was born in Venosa in Pannonia Secunda. He served as magister equitum (master of the horse) in the reign of Emperor Anthemius (c. 467–472). He was elected consul for the year 516 together with Gaudentius, one of the magistrates of the Licinius. After the death of Anthemius, he and Gaudentius were placed under house arrest in the palace of Galerius.

In 523, Boethius is mentioned as a Decemvir of Rome. He is said to have been accused of being a tyrant by Anicius Orestes. His death was reported in an inscription found at the church of San Giovanni in Laterano. His tombstone is located in the cemetery of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, and dates to the sixth century.

The court found that the city of Cranston’s proposed redistricting plan violated the Rhode Island Constitution by subdividing Senate District 23 and House Districts 45, 46, and 47, all currently represented by Republicans.

The original redistricting plan for Rhode Island’s four-district, 29-member General Assembly was drawn by the state’s 11-member redistricting commission.

The plan was challenged by the League of Women Voters, a group that has sued the Rhode Island General Assembly over its redistricting process on multiple occasions.

The league argued that the commission had essentially fixed the state’s electoral boundaries for years to come, which would allow politicians from the same district to have a major advantage over those in different districts.

But in a 5-2 ruling issued on Tuesday, the court found the plan unconstitutional because it unfairly combined the current seats of four incumbent House members into just two districts, denying voters of their constitutional right to equal protection of the law.

The other three incumbent Republicans, whose seats are currently in House Districts 46 and 47, are not yet covered by the court’s ruling.

The state will likely have to redraw the lines for the 2012 elections, and the decision could affect the outcomes of many state and federal races.
