Remove all items from a scala.Seq without knowing item’s length

I have a Seq of elements that I want to remove all of them from the list.
The only way I found for doing this is iterating through the entire list and delete all of the items that equal any of the items in my chosen list. I’m wondering if there is a more simple way to do this because my list is quite long.
List = Seq(item1, item2, item3, item4)
Result = Seq(item1, item2, item3, item4)

Currently my method is:
def removeItems(List:Seq[Any]):List[Any] = {
val emptyList = List.take(List.size)

You could also use filter { case _: Int => false } to remove all elements except those with an Int, and map (_.asInstanceOf[Int]) to eliminate the Ints:

If you feel that’s too cumbersome, you could also make a function like this:
def filterInts(list: List[Any]): List[Any] = list.filter(_.isInstanceOf[Int])

Aside from filter, which is rather contrived and uses a ternary operator, there are other ways to manipulate a collection and the most concise (IMHO) would be to use map:
List(1,2,3,4).map(i => i + 1)

will return:

Similarly, a map of a conditional would work:
List(1,2,3,4).map(_ => if (false) 1 else 2)

will return:

This is relatively convenient as you don’t need a tern

GaN/ZnO core-shell/MgO-HUSCN nanobelt heterojunction for high efficiency blue and white light-emitting diodes.
Blue and white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) based on GaN/ZnO core-shell/MgO-HUSCN heterojunction were investigated. The GaN/ZnO core-shell/MgO-HUSCN nanobelt heterojunctions were obtained by a facile thermal spray method with Mg as a core element. The Mg-doped ZnO thin film was uniformly coated on the GaN nanobelts of each heterojunction through an in situ growth process in an atmospheric pressure- and temperature-controlled chemical vapor deposition (AP-CVD) process. Mg doping and high HUSCN coating levels, which enhanced charge separation in the Mg-HUSCN system, result in a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 23.6% and 27.8% for GaN/ZnO core-shell/MgO-HUSCN heterojunctions, respectively. In addition, the Mg-HUSCN/MgO-HUSCN heterojunctions offer a high emission efficiency for GaN-based white LEDs with a PCE of 7.9%. Our results indicate that the GaN/ZnO core-shell/MgO-HUSCN heterojunctions can be a potential substrate for GaN-based white LEDs.\
