Adobe Photoshop is one of the most popular image editing software tools in the world. It is the industry standard, even when such software is available as a web app (e.g. Flickr, Picassa) or standalone application (e.g. iStock). Why? Because it is the industry standard. And that is a lot to lay claim to.

There are many variations of Photoshop, including Photoshop Elements, Photoshop CS (Photoshop Classic), Photoshop Lightroom, Photoshop Photomerge, and Photoshop CS6, the latest version. There are also a number of plugins for Photoshop for specific purposes.

Photoshop includes the tools that professionals use to create artwork for the advertising industry and the graphic arts. Once complete, a raw digital file is exported for printing. Here are ten fun Photoshop Facts.

10 Photoshop Facts To Know

1. Photoshop was released in 1990.

Early in the history of the program, Adobe assigned Photoshop to graphic artist John Knoll to implement a unified editing system for its computers. Knoll assigned a new engineer to the task, Thomas Buck, whom he named Photoshop. Buck took to the task and designed a new kind of digital editing environment for a raster computer that could, if you will, create an infinitely complex movie-like narrative from a series of one- or two-dimensional pictures.

Initially, Photoshop was considered a scientific tool, the interface was based on windows on the computer screen. It had been designed to create sophisticated 3-D models, not simply to edit raster images.

A year later the program was re-born as Adobe Photoshop.

2. The first version of Photoshop had limited features.

The first version of Photoshop had limited features. Buck taught himself the basic version and Knoll wrote the comments. The software was shipped publicly in 1991 to a number of people, including Thomas J. Watson.

3. Photoshop on Windows was released in 1994.

In 1994, and shortly after Photoshop CS 1 was released, the release of Adobe Photoshop CS for Windows was announced. It was the first version of Photoshop to be able to be used on a Windows platform. It had no 3D effects or plugins and was, in many ways, a stripped down version of the graphical editing power of the Macintosh system, but a version that could be used on Windows machines.

4. Photoshop was acquired by Adobe in 1996.

Adobe owned Photoshop until 2010.

C#: How do I add every second column of an array to a separate array?

I’m a beginner, and I’ve been looking at other similar questions but none of the answers seem to fit the situation.
I have an array:
var numbers = new string[] {“1”, “2”, “3”, “4”, “5”, “6”, “7”, “8”, “9”};

And I need to add every other column to a different variable, so that the result is:
int[] num1;
int[] num2;
int[] num3;

and so on.
How would I go about doing this?

One way is to use Array.ConvertAll:
var newNumbers = Array.ConvertAll(numbers,
x => int.Parse(x.ToString()));

How can I check on blur if input field is empty using jQuery?

How can I check on blur if input field is empty using jQuery?
I want to display an alert if it is empty.

Try using jQuery’s.blur() event, and checking the length property:
$(“input”).blur(function() {
if ($(this).val().length == 0) {
alert(“Empty input”);

How to optimize Java cache?

I’m working on a large web-page, which produces a lot of data. Some data is loaded directly from DB, and some data are loaded from JS library.
Appcelerator provides a good cache for JS components, but I couldn’t find a good solution for the Java one.
Is it possible to register some kind of cache on data, which will be loaded only once and not queried each time?
I’m very interrested in native solutions, as appcelerator and other web solutions work on embedded devices and limited resources.

java.util.Map to the rescue. A (spoilered) private map of cache-able data.
The cache should be something to handle ConcurrentMod

Is there any way to use debug information in it?
I think this could be achieved by using debug info such as System.out.println();
I have not seen this concept explained in any book or tutorial.
Can anyone explain more details about it?
Any help is appreciated.

Absolutely! The class org.apache.jasper.compiler.JspCompilationContext has a method with the signature void printLine(int line).
You can supply it a byte array containing the bytecodes to print. The class org.apache.jasper.compiler.JspWriter has a method with the signature void doOutput(Writer out, int line).
After compiling and executing the code, you can get the information about the compiled code by doing the following:
ByteArrayOutputStream byteArrayOutputStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
JspWriter writer = new JspWriter(byteArrayOutputStream, writer);
JspCompilationContext context = new JspCompilationContext();

In the byte array you get for byteArrayOutputStream you’ll find a header as well as the raw code of the page. In order to locate specific instructions, you have to read the array from the top to the bottom. In the header you’ll find the instruction that belongs to a line number. It starts with the instruction 0x66 0x6e 0x61, i.e. this instruction belongs to line 16 of the source code.
The bytecodes are placed in three groups

Opcodes of the class org.apache.jasper.compiler.JspWriter
Opcodes of the class org.apache.jasper.comp
